120 academic hours of Russian language for free!
Intensive evening Russian language courses (as foreign) for adults with the support of the fund “Russian World” in the Baltic International Academy (Lomonosova Street 1/4)
Course duration: 4 months
Intensivety: 3 times per week
Time: 18:00 - 20:00
Studies start: 06.02.2012.
Registration fee: 45 EUR
On completing the course you receive the-end-of-course certificate that indicates your Russian language level.
Levels of groups: A1 (Beginners), A2 (Basic), B1 (Intermediate), B2 (Business-Russian).
To register in Russian language course please:
1) fill in application form
2) complete online test
3) write a motivation letter why do you need to learn Russian.
The amount of free spots in groups is limited!

Legendary pilot-cosmonaut Georgy Grechko, the first man to transmit a concert of Vladimir Vysotsky’s songs from the Earth’s orbit, will participate in the creation of a bas-relief sculpture Vladimir Vysotsky and contemporaries in Riga.
The presentation of the project and meeting with the cosmonaut will be held at the Riga Hotel at 16:30 on January 25 at 22 Aspazija Boulevard, where Vladimir Vysotsky used to stay.

Since Study year 2011/2012 the bachelor programme “European studies” provides studies also in English.
Programme educates students in the EU governance and policy, political processes and institutions, economy and legislation.

The official opening of The EU Information Service Centre took place on the 7th June in the Baltic International Academy. Among those who attended the event were the Member of the Board of BIA Stanislavs Buka, the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary in Latvia Gábor Dobokay, the Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Latvia Iveta Šulca as well as the representatives of ministries, information service centres and higher educational institutions in Latvia.




On the 20th of May 2011 in BMI „Russian centre” 40 students received certificates of Russian language as foreign language in different levels.
In this day also methodist Olga Zdebskaya of BMI „Russian centre” congratulated students.

EU Information Centre in BIA Organizes Meeting with Latvian Volunteers !
2011 has been designated as the European Year of Volunteering within the European Union.
April is declared as the „Month of Collaboration” In April the week of Doors Open Day takes place in Latvia.
During this week you will have an opportunity to find out more about the voluntary work in various organizations, such as the companies, municipalities or state offices.
The purpose of the week of Doors Open Day is to engage mainly young people in voluntary work and to attract the public attention to the role of volunteers in everyday life.
EU Information Centre in BIA organizes Doors Open Day on April 21st at 12:00 p.m. (Lomonosova street 1, aud. 321).

International doctoral programme “Regional Economics and Economic Policy” together with the Academy Podlasska (Poland) – 120 credit points or 180 ECTS.
Duration of studies:
Full-time studies - 3 years
Part-time studies - 4 years
The studies are held on Saturdays.
The normal minimum qualification to be eligible for admission is the completion of a Master’s degree in economics or Master’s degree in management and publications (not less than 2 publications).
Enrollment is carried out on the basis of an interview with a commission.

The obligatory documents to be presented to the Baltic International Academy for issuing of an invitation  and to the consular department of an embassy of the Latvian republic (consulate) for reception of a temporary residence permit for education!
