History of creation
Traditionally the higher school libraries have been formed as local book collections with their contents corresponding to educational goals and curriculum. A large amount of textbooks, handbooks, manuals, and other aids form the main part of any such collection.
Principles and strategy of fund acquisition
Nowadays the educational requirements have caused a significant increase in independent work and self-education of students. Therefore, there are some basic principles at work here: purchasing academic books to a certain extent and publishing of the BIA's own books. Today we have got one of the biggest book collections, which contain the best works of famous authors and outstanding scientists in diverse fields of knowledge.
